What is behind so many prominent democratic leaders |
|
protecting the administration from being held accountable for its many impeachable offenses through the impeachment process? There is something I'm not getting, something I must not be seeing. Any clues anyone?

6. It is probably something so simple |
|
as: A reaction to the Nixon Impeachment.
There are people who believe the Nixon Impeachment harmed the country. When Iran Contra occurred, a group went to Leaders and said there will be no impeachment. That situation was a Friday evening dump and hardly discussed again. When Clinton was in trouble, the Senate stood their ground.
I will never forget a comment by Sam Donaldson formerly ABC for years. Sam was on C-Span and someone threw out a question. Sam's response. In this country, the President will not go down. Others around him may fall but not the President. This is the way it is folks. He gave no further explanation. His tone and the seriousness of his comment were so emphatic--it was seared in my memory.
When one thinks about it, Impeachment could become a political tool--very unhealthy one at that.

7. If it keeps them from pulling this kind of shit, then it's a political tool that's good for the US. |
|
Needless to say, I think impeachment is just the appetizer in this particular case.

8. The problem with that theory is that Nixon was not impeached. |
|
He might have been, if he had stuck it out, but he folded so as to protect the invisible government's power structure.
The invisible government that moved to seize power by getting Ronnie Rayguns elected.
It's called the BFEE.
