FORT LEWIS, Wash. - The Army isn't saying if the death of a Fort Lewis soldier in Iraq earlier this month was a homicide, an accident, or a suicide.
The soldier's parents are outraged because they say there is no doubt it was homicide.
Twenty-nine-year-old Staff Sgt. Amy Seyboth Tirado died November 4 under suspicious circumstances at a security military base near Kirkush, Iraq. The Army called it "non-combat related."
Tirador trained in military intelligence at Fort Lewis in 2008. She was on her second tour in Iraq – an Arabic-speaking interrogator with the 209th Military Intelligence Company, 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division.
After waiting three agonizing weeks, Tirador's parents still haven't heard from Army investigators.
