5. By the end of his presidency, he will have ended two wars, |
|
that were started by others, cut nuclear arms in the world, and gotten the world together to work on Climate change.
I think they were right on target, those folks in Norway..... and they will be proven prescient...
The naysayers here speculate in the negative for days cause that's why most people post on message boards, cause they are unhappy about something or other, and want to say it instead of just thinking it. That's why there is so much activity on the RW blogs currently.

and there were people who believed he should have at the time
Nixon also became aware that his escalation in Viet Nam would not end the war, and he eventually got out
I just find it ironic that they got us out of both places for whatever reasons

by cozying up to China. I'm not quite sure how, but I think the two are related since the Chinese Communist Party was supporting North Vietnam, and Nixon had established diplomatic ties with China at around the same time that Kissinger was negotiating the withdrawal of American troops with the North Vietnamese at the Paris Peace Talks.

Because he ain't gonna have the massive turn out of 18-30 year olds who voted for him last year in 2012, if he escalates Afghanistan, and lets Netanyahu con him into a war with Iran, which recent rhetoric about their non existent "nuclear weapons" suggests is still a possibility.
In fact not only will he not have their votes, but a lot of them will probably be dead, as an escalation of Afghanistan and war in Iran would officially kick this into World War III. And obviously there would be a draft for that.

16. He will be a two-term president, I would put money on it, and it isn't because I agree with what he |
|
is doing in Afghanistan. The fact is the republicans will not put up a moderate against him, and the independents in this country will NOT vote for the far right policies of the republican party. Whoever wins the independent voters, wins the election, and at least today the moderates are not going to vote for the republicans in the presidential election.
That being said, Congressional elections are an entirely different matter, and the Democrats could very will lose.

The only thing I will grant you is the story isn't over yet, but within two years we will know exactly where we stand, right now it is a very mixed bag
Incidently, one of the generals who is giving him advice also covered up the Pat Tilman death, and undercut the President, thought he didn't have him replaced. I call that misguided at best, and foolhardy at worst

As far as reducing nuclear arms, all I'm seeing is what I've seen out of others, hot air.

I never expected we were electing a messiah. I expected slow, gradual change. Change that brings the majority of Americans along with it... not the kind that is shoved down half the country's throat, causing the kind of backlash that will last for generations. We've seen that. It doesn't work well, IMO.

Why should we give Obama the benefit of the doubt because "has knowledge and information that we don't"?
Isn't is safe to assume that Bush "has knowledge and information that we don't" when the war started? Did you give him the benefit of the doubt?
You can argue that one is a leader and one is a dunce, but, so what?
Should we feel warm and fuzzy about Afghanistan now because Obama is at the helm?
The end result is more war and death.
