4. The only one with much chance of being true is Palin (i) |
|
I'll lay money right now Obama is the 2012 Dem nominee. At odds. Push if he is killed though.
Mitt will never get the support of the religious right base. They don't think Mormons are Christians and nobody not overtly Christian will get the R nomination. Pawlenty is a possibility. Huckabee will do better next time as he's better known. Cheney could make it interesting.

5. There is no way that the republican base will allow a ticket without Palin on it. The birthers, |
|
teabaggers, fundamentalists/evangelicals, flat-earthers, gay-haters, racists, immigrant haters and the rest of the base will see to it that she is drafted at their convention.

10. That is why they will split and she will be running 3rd party. That opens the way for Mittens and |
|
his magic underwear to get the nomination once the TaliBornagainers are shed.

will NOT be visible by then. My prediction: Jeb Bush/Liz Cheney (R's). Bush/Cheney - yep. SHUDDER. R's keep the Appalacian Belt - D's (Obama/Biden) win in a LANDSLIDE. :yoiks:

I originally thought it would be Romney/Jindal but a Mormon AND a foreign-looking Catholic would be too much.
Palin will never be on a National Republican ticket. The smartest thing she could do is run for Senator from Alaska.

8. Three years from now the world will be so different we won't even recognize the names. |
|
Maybe Obama will come into his own by then and develop a real ideology. Maybe he'll self destruct over the wars, maybe he'll do something noteworthy, or maybe he'll just piddle along making pretty speeches as the economy fails to sink or float. He'd have to implode for there to be a real challenge. I'm still hoping he learns who to listen to and who not, and becomes the character so many people thought he was in the primaries.
Romney, Palin, Pawlenty, Cantor, and who knows who else could have a good couple of years and emerge as a leader. For that matter, Huccabee may not be done--three years is a long time to hold onto a story.
But there will be national figures we aren't even paying attention to now. The older generation is done. That might include Clinton, too, which is a shame. I'll always believe she should have been president this time. Obama was smart to bind her to his administration, because if he fails, she fails, and if he succeeds, she can't run against him.
Then there's the chance of the unforeseen. Illness, tragedy, a major event that changes the entire equation...
Three years is a long time when the mood of the public is involved.
