War is easy. Peace is hard. That's really about the extent of it. |
|
Our nation is far from doing the right things, the hard things. That's why we fill our media with Tiger Woods and party crashers. That's why we give our health care "reform" to the keepers of the status quo. That's why we fill rush-hour freeways with millions of bloated SUV's, each carrying one human.
And to the issue of the day, that's why we appease the corporate powers who demand war and oppression but who give us comfort and convenience in return. It's just a lot easier.

1. Destruction is easier than Creation. |

It's also very profitable for the US. It's a sad statement about humanity.

Anyone who's ever played blocks with a 12-month-old baby can tell you how hilarious it is to knock over a carefully constructed tower of blocks. The trouble is we're not playing with blocks anymore, but the babies are still running the show.

4. We know what our leaders do when towers get knocked over. |
|
We also know how much blood and treasure we can and will lose because of it.

9. Keeping enough of the electorate comfortable and distracted is |
|
a tricky balancing act, but with the tools of the electronic media they're doing it.

Negotiation, forgiveness, collaboration - all adult activities, risky and very difficult.
The child response, on the other hand, is simple. Just send in more troops.

8. Yeah, those are the only choices |

Kill or be killed. No other way around it. It's a binary black and white problem. Stimulus-response. Action-reaction. On-off. 1-0.

11. It's far more difficult to find common ground w/those who simply don't care |
|
I'm unsure of what you mean by "those who want to kill you," although if you're alluding to "terrorists," you do indeed have much to fear from the ones in Washington, and throughout corporate America.

10. And by killing some, the rulers can convince others. |
|
It's disgusting, but that's how fear-based living works.
