The others may have shorter memories or not be paying attention.

4. Carter was the first President to be tough on the Apartheid regime in South Africa |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 06:41 PM by ck4829
That's just one accomplishment of his that was not only for America but for human rights all over the world.
"Carter" should be considered a mantle of honor.

6. Many here thought he was going to be another Carter and that's why they voted for him. |
|
I voted for him because of the consequences and I support him 100 percent.
What's sad is so many are turning on our president when he is only doing what he said he was going to during the campaign.

I will only vote for people who get sizeable majorities of the vote. I won't vote in their first election, of course... how am I to know if they're losers yet?

16. No, actually. I criticize the president because I don´t want him to succumb |
|
to what ruined the Carter presidency.
Jimmy Carter is probably the greatest man to inhabit the oval office. But he failed to execute the office effectively.
Carter coddled a brutal dictator whom he KNEW was violating human rights, one of Carter´s core principles. He failed to follow his instincts and his core values and everything turned to shit.
I think Obama is also a great man.
I want him to be EFFECTIVE and keep his core principles in tact.
So if I see him cross the line, I will say so.
