I am baffled - maybe you can help explain this
My workplace has blacks and whites. At my workplace there are some whites who are 100% racist. All the black people there are libs, except one. Let me describe him.

He's not physically a white-black, but very dark. He has a very advanced degree, yet he hasn't been able to get a job in that career. He's a seemingly very nice guy and hard working. He has a black dialect. However, he spends the whole day listening to Rush Limbaugh and Glen Beck on an earpiece as he works, and whenever he has an opportunity to talk politics, he bashes liberals in the same way Rush Limbaugh does.

I am not making this up. Flummoxed doesn't even begin to describe my amazement.

My question to you all is, this: WHY OH WHY is he this way?

4. I honestly don't know. He doesn't seem to hate himself. I don't get it.
I keep thinking he and Clarence Thomas have the same problem or personality?

5. I worked with one just like him
a woman who loved Limbag and bashed people on welfare. She was a hard working lady and I think she resented seeing welfare mothers staying home with their kids while she went out to work.

Never mind that you live like shit on welfare and her kids did better on a working mother's paycheck. The resentment of not being able to be the one to raise her kids full time did it.

I don't know about your co worker, but something very much like it might be at work there.

Either that, or he's just a contrary son of a bitch.

My coworker was basically a good egg so I allowed her to be wrong and didn't bother haranguing her.

10. Interesting. At least she wanted to be home. She had a reason
for being angry at people who were forced to rely on welfare for whatever reason.

17. Yeah, except her kids were grown and gone
She hated the fact that she felt like she never had the choice and projected that onto welfare mothers who really didn't have the choice to go out and support their families the way she had.

After all, anybody who has the means to get off welfare does so as quickly as possible. It's really a lousy way to live. Most abandoned homemakers spend less than two years on it.

I guess it's just easier to blame other people for being lazy when other things like retardation, mental health issues, and physical problems might be the determining factors.

18. That's what I've told right wingers. I've asked them if they'd give up their life....
to live the lifestyles of people on welfare. They refuse to answer. Always!

6. With no other input, he is limiting his capacity to think. Plus self - hatred is
not contingent on color. You do not know his personal history.
There is no way to guess at this anomaly. The sheer fact that he is such an exception puts a solid floor under the rule.

I surely share your consternation, and I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

8. While most black people I know are democrats, there are quite a few
that are republicans. We are all very different. I even know a few gay republicans. Not somehting you see that often, but it happens. You just can't assume anything about anyone based on their color, sexuality, or anything.

13. I guess I must be stupid. I think about myself as a black person, and I can't even imagine
loving the oppressor over the victim. Maybe I am delusional?

16. We all see things differently. Why not ask him why he supports the republicans?
It may lead to an interesting conversation.

19. I have. He says he doesn't like lazy people, he believes the right wing ideology is
responsible, that they pull themselves up by their bootstraps, and that they're not living "off his dime."

9. Why are there masochists?
I think the answer has something to do with "you can't reason someone out of something they weren't reasoned into in the first place".

This particular right-wing message says it's okay for you to be bitter about your lack of power, because it was all the fault of others, organized in unholy behind-the-scenes conspiracies that are - gasp! - voluntary, consensual, and socialistic. If this message resonates emotionally, the data no more needs to be compelling than creationists really need to believe that the earth was created in 4004 BC. They don't - they just need to believe that they're right, you're wrong, and there's nothing you can do to become right except follow their alpha male, and disbelieving in anything commonly accepted but not easily tested by individuals allows for this.

14. I can see that perfectly, but what's really messed up is....
there are 2 people in my office who are (or at least they behave like) white power a-holes, and in the face of this, he (a black person) is bashing libs. ???? Weird. Maybe he thinks he's white and his ancestors are white or something. Very very bizarre.
