The winds of dogmatism, ignorance and childishness are blowing at gale force here (Gale Force was an excellent porn star in the 80s, hmmm) kind of like a fart that's been trapped under a blanket all night and is finally set free.

We didn't get our agenda satisfied the way we thought of it, WAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. And not even after TEN WHOLE MONTHS of having a SUPER DUPER MAJORITY. These guys are slackers!!!!!!

And WTF is a 'snap' ? Is that like the '2 snaps up' movie reviewers on In Living Color who were um, gay (presumably) ? Like snapping your fingers to make mean people go poof (no pun intended) and vanish ? If so it kind of reminds me of the late night series where Pam Anderson is a private dick (again, no pun intended) along with a couple other hotties who have more mass on their chests than between their ears (not that that's a bad thing) and behave as though they think striking faux tough poses would be impressive to your average evildoer. Hehehehe.

To put it simply, the lack of appreciation of the complexity of domestic and international politics, or of the real threats to the comfort of our liberal middle class lifestyle which we seek to make more just (or just want to trash while speaking from its midst) which exist in the world and the difficulty of identifying them and then neutralizing them with a minimum of destruction, and conversely the readiness to conclude that all opinions are equally valid (where the missing piece is, are they equivalently backed by knowledge) and that therefore I should emit mine on any topic that comes under my nose, sort of uncontrollably, like gas after eating Mexican food (please, oh please, someone please call me on racism for that) is disastrous. It confirms the worst stereotypes of the Democratic Party and liberals in general as people who should be declared incompetent because they're operating somewhere in the 5-16 year old age range when it comes to a responsible informed understanding of present conditions and formulation of policy, specifically with regards to knowledge which might give rise to realism and practicality of approach.

We know it ain't so, but you wouldn't know from the din here.

In the context of Afghanistan, it means balancing the competing strategic interests and being clear about what resources are going to be used, and why. I have always felt we were justified in fighting over in Afghanistan, because the Taliban regime and their successors have facilitated large and deadly attacks on the US, as well as attacks on the UK, Spain, and arguably against India. It is a large and complex strategic issue which can't easily be dealt with in a few paragraphs...but given your taste for one-line snark, I don't feel it's worth my time doing a pages-long analysis.
