20% or so on the far right will be birthers, tea-partiers, and Sarah Palin sycophants
20% or so on the far left will be...much of DU, apparently, lol
and the 60% or so in the middle will be the remains of the Democratic and Republican parties that think the wings have lost their minds
might work out, who knows :)

What you "frame" as "far left" (you know that is a Republican talking point right? That is where it came from) is actually "Progressives". Most of the left blogishere and most of the left media on TV are **progressive**. You are not yet seeing the full strength of our numbers because half of the progressives who's policies are not at all centrist are still hoping Obama is a closet progressive.
You should not hope for the division, because it will be far larger than you think. Instead centrists should allow the progressive voice a place at the table. Consensus indeed works better. The trouble is progressives have been completely shut out. That is quite different than what is going on the Right wing side.
