4. ah, the human cost of war
Edited on Wed Dec-02-09 01:00 AM by Oregone
Not quite as spicy of a topic to talk about than the political cost of war.

Caution to those who cry out on behalf of the Afghanis' plight! You may make Sarah Palin our president!

7. You might be right, and that may be the reason we don't seem to learn from our mistakes

5. At least we'll be down to one dumb war instead of two at that point.
Our troops are already packing up and getting ready to leave Iraq. Heavy equipment such as tanks and trucks are in the process of being shipped either back to the States or to Afghanistan. The troops themselves are mostly in barracks now instead of on the streets of Baghdad and other Iraqi cities.

It's one of those stories that don't make the news at all, but yes, we actually are getting out of Iraq. It's possible that things could change and Iraq could be dragged out longer, but the money's on us getting out.

And I damned well hope Obama's gonna keep his word on pulling out of Afghanistan. I want my President to succeed, so that America succeeds, though I have doubts as to whether the escalation in Afghanistan is going to bring positive results.

6. I would hope no one
I don't agree with what is happening but I WANT the strategy to succeed - because I support our troops, I like my country and I wish the people of Afghanistan the best.....I DO.
