We Told You So
We told you:

that it was a mistake to accept Madame Speaker Pelosi pronouncing "Impeachment Is Off The Table."

that it was a mistake to not investigate and/or impeach Bush, Cheney & Co.

that is was a mistake to accept the first stolen election.

that it was a mistake to accept the second stolen election.

that it was a mistake to allow Bushco. to lie us into war.

that it was a mistake to gamble the integrity of the nation and the Constitution on winning 2008 elections.

that it was a mistake to accept the eradication of your civil rights.

that it was a mistake to allow the Unitary Executive Frankenstein monster to be sent into the future.

that it was a mistake to pretend that demanding accountability was "only on principle."

that it was a mistake to deprive the American people of an overdue civics lesson, with some grounding in principle.

that it was a mistake to pretend that you could predict with certitude the outcome of investigations and/or impeachment -- or elections.

that it was a mistake to assume that Bush, Cheney & Co. would EVER be held accountable, if not during their administration.

that it was a mistake to sell out your country for political convenience, to be left with unaccountable government, corrupted powers and unending war.

We told you.

So?

3. You are exploding my head.
To each of your points I'm saying, "Yeah. Uh huh..." And so.....?

I don't know what to make of your post. Maybe it's just really late and I oughta be asleep.

6. It is head exploding
Those who refused to investigate/impeach gambled and "won." They "won" this escalation of Bushco's war, by this president.

They "won" a country and a world and a history where Bush, Cheney and Co. will not be held accountable.

They "won" a nation with its values hollowed out and they don't mind a bit.

4. "eradication" is to remove or destroy utterly; with respect to civil rights...
that has not been the case as yet, not as a summary matter. So?

Well - so - while I appreciate your relationship to your passion and access to your preferences the strait into which America has entered is a narrow one; and the stone cold RW picayune will (and this is a continued consideration for us here and on the left in general); they will reach in, seize upon and re-color "accept the eradication of your civil rights" as hyperbole. As hyperbole, the passage will be made to fly on it's own - and so long as civil rights exist they will not have been removed or destroyed utterly

With 13 passages containing 7 refs to facets of impeachment (again what I understand & appreciate), the read is as though having taken a drop of paint and spread it out with a butter knife for either effect, or to see how far it would spread - however, by stepping away from what is concise the message of the paint becomes thinner & thinner to where on the trailing edge you can nearly see right through it

republicans have been bouncing round like red rubber balls for months now. After tonight it's going to get really nasty and become a true freak show which is maybe the worst of all cause we can't afford that either :):(

5. Hasn't it?
Love your imagery. Point well taken. Considered while composing. Hopefully, the paint doesn't become too much of a wash, as you warn.

The real wash, though, is the brain wash, the wash of preemptive certitudes that cannot be proven and that have brought us to this moment, by folks -- like the person in the earliest replies -- who believe we "didn't have much choice about it" and trust that their rights and options are intact, even when they have been hollowed out, undermined, replaced with a flimsy backdrop of sticks and cloth and a varnish of slick, glossy nonsense.
