I have noticed something I haven't seen in a while....
I just returned from a weekend trip and when stopping in several towns along the way I noticed "help wanted" signs. After my initial surprise, I started making a mental note of them. I saw in a matter of a couple days 5 different help wanted signs in the windows of different establishments. Granted these were all low paying jobs, 2 pizza joints, one movie rental place, 1 Subway,1 locally owned family type restaurant. BUT the thing is they were there. Are they new jobs opening up or are they old jobs needing filled because the former holder found something better? I just thought this was interesting and hopefully a good sign of things to come.

1. If it's anecdotes you want, yes, I think things are getting better
One unemployed friend found a good job, and he says they are busy. Another has gotten several offers, but hasn't found anything worth leaving unemployment for. So, yeah, I do think things are stabilizing, if not getting better.

2. just random chance, as it was one weekend, on one route - however, hopefully it's a sign of things
more than just those couple of roads. I know where I'm at, it's not very good, and I rarely see anything. There are $7 jobs to be found, but one cannot live on that and pay their bills and eat. You'd think places like that, that sell or serve food of some kind, would give their employees, some free food while they're there. That would help tremendously.

4. I've been seeing the same thing.
As bad as things are, a dippy job is better than no job at all.

5. "Granted these were all low paying jobs"
That's the whole point of this 'economic shift' we're going through.

Might as well start calling the Minimum Wage the American Wage
