"Anti" votes haven't been participating in debate. Expected to be close.

5. I don't 'know', exactly, but I've lived here long enough to know
that the New York Assembly is conservative in fact even if liberal in theory.

That is, if it was going to pass, supporters would KNOW and would be saying it's a done deal.

The uncertainty about the vote tells me that it's not going to pass.

Hope I'm wrong, though, of course. :)

19. I think our Assembly is much more Liberal than the Senate. The Assembly has voted
for Same Sex Marriage and Medical Marijuana Legalization. The First, just shot down by the Senate and the Second, ignored and never voted on by the Senate.

11. I like Senator Parker
And he called that out plain as day. The "no" votes are all about political cowardice.

13. Eric Adams was brilliant too. "I was not around to march with Dr. King.."
"or to address the atrocities about the Italians, the Irish, but we have no business interfering with love"

Something like that.

18. List of Democratic no's
Edited on Wed Dec-02-09 03:02 PM by Prism
For your primary consideration:

* Joseph Addabbo (D) — NO

* Darrel Aubertine (D) — NO

* Ruben Diaz (D) — NO “Sen. Smith, it is better to keep your word.”

* Shirley Huntley (D) — NO

* Carl Kruger (D) — NO

* Hiram Monserrate (D) — NO

* George Onorato (D) — NO

* William Stachowski (D) — NO

Note, had the party we support supported us in turn, gay marriage would be a reality in New York today.

Ruben Diaz (D) — Bronx
Shirley Huntley (D) — Queens County
Carl Kruger (D) — Brooklyn
Hiram Monserrate (D) — Queens County
George Onorato (D) — Queens County
William Stachowski (D) — Erie County
