I'm against the escalation. BUT I don't think DUers who support it |
|
are automatically evil ghouls with blood dripping off their fingers or merely Obamabots who are mindlessly devoted to the President and will back anything he proposes. And I think suggesting that is repugnant and pretty, well, mindless. I haven't seen any "rah, rah, let's kill them all and let god sort them out" posts from DUers. I've seen some thoughtful posts supporting the escalation and some pretty dumb ones as well as some woefully uninformed ones, but I've seen that from those who I'm aligned with about this as well.

All the gnashing of teeth and angst over his torture, war, healthcare, lgbt, education, womens rights etc was pointed out then and dismissed by people like you.
You treated a good many on this board to your brand of cod swalloping tripe on a daily basis, cali.
Have you reflected on it at all?

and that's not how you spell the wonderful word "codswallop". Furthermore, using the phrase "codswalloping trip" is like saying the dead corpse, bean.

Too bad it's only now, after you have been so wrong about something, do you call for understanding.
But hey, I understand, it sucks to be so fuckin wrong about something, it's kinda hard to admit it, huh?

And since rarely even look at her posts. Still, this one was excellent so I thought I would encourage this sort of thinking. Might make for a nice remindeer should the viciousness rear it's ugly head again. ;-)

I don't think anyone feels good about this.
I think about one half of us is certain this is a disatrous mistake.
and the other half are praying it's not.
I don't see much difference in those two positions.
but some people get off on flame-wars.

20. No, they just don't have friends and/or loved ones on their 4th deployment. |

It's easy to be for WAR when it doesn't come close to you personally. If all you know is pictures on a TV screen. I've been to Walter Reed and have seen those affected by WAR. Anyone who has seen how over-burdened our military is now, would NOT be for an escalation.

one Soldier, Sailor or Marine that is going back for their 3rd or 4th deployment? I do. Have you talked with troops who have been maimed and suffer from brain trauma and/or PTSD. I have.
This is like "a game" to most here because less than 1% of the USA population is directly effected.
This is LIFE or DEATH for our young troops.
This is NOT a game.

22. I think DU'ers who support the escalation |
|
honestly believe that it will save more lives than pulling out now would do - in other words, they believe it is the right thing to do. I don't necessarily agree with their analysis, but automatically labeling Obama supporters "warmongers" is an unwarranted broad brush attack.

mean well, they have not studied Military Science. If they had, they'd realize that no modern military has conquered Afghanistan.
