For those using Windows and Avast antivirus, the latest update is causing numerous false-positives.

Posters on both the Wilders and DSLreports threads recommend stopping the Standard Shield (by right-clicking on the Avast system tray icon) until the problem is fixed; I chose to uninstall Avast and replace it with Avira for the time being.
