revenues:

pennys: 18 billion
sears: 23 billion
macys: 24 billion
lowe's: 48 billion
target: 64 billion
home depot: 71 billion


Walmart = bigger than all of them combined.

walmart: 404 billion in revenues

1. any idea where they would rank vs. some country economies?
They must be bigger than many small countries.

5. Too many poor people for them to fail.
If we were all rich and could afford to shop elsewhere they would be in trouble. Whats odd is that in China shopping at Wal-Mart is a status symbol. Here its a necessity for low income people.

8. I made that observation recently
It's not just the massive amounts of ad time on the networks, they also created a ton of different types of commercials. It's not unusual to see 2 different walmart ads in a single commercial cycle during prime time network television these days that target different demographics.

12. Much of that comes from nickle and diming their employees
The lowest employees struggle and "sacrifice" for the highest up in the country. It is all about "The Company".
