Reasons why change--real change--is still absolutely necessary
1. The rich are still getting richer, and everyone else poorer.

2. The people's representatives in the House suck at representing the people. They're much better at representing the interests of corporations while pretending loudly to be for the people or the common good.

3. The Senate is filled with constipated imbeciles.

4. The "press" wouldn't know what to do with First Amendment rights if they bit them in the ass.

5. Our political opponents on the right are worse than imbeciles. They are not worthy of us, but they're all we've got.

6. The best lack all conviction, while the worst/ Are full of passionate intensity.

7. The old order sucks the life out of anything new that rises to challenge it. Were you expecting change from the electoral system? What on earth gave you the idea that politics in America has the strength or energy to change anything? Where have you been for the last 40 years?

8. Therefore, real change is going to have to come, not from our "leaders" in politics or enterprise. And I stress "going to have to." It is absolutely essential for the sake of the soul of the nation.

1. Real change comes from the bottom up, never the top down

2. Power gives up nothing without a demand.
What we voted for was the chance to create the space to make demands. Now we need to use that space.

4. That's likely the best way of framing that particular option as I've heard
... even though I voted Nader as O had my state locked in.

The problem w/making those demands is, how to collectively will it, to exert an effective degree of force?

3. The top is too invested in the status quo.
The status quo sucks. This one we've been stuck in since Nixon **sucks.**
