none is forthcoming don't hold your collective breaths. Ill believe it when i see the likes of bush and his cronies in jail; ceos of banks losing all their possessions as well as bonuses to pay for their collective fraud and leading the country into bankruptcy; members of congress giving up their cushy pensions and retiring on social security as well as having to rely on for profit medical insurance; completely banning all money from private parties to those running for office (public funding and free tv time would do), having an ethics committee to oversee congress comprised of citizens with a two year tenure; having a weapons designer expert (for planes ships etc...) as well as an experienced audit cpa to calculate exactly how much something cost to build and then giving the contractors a 3 to 4% profit margin which most industries would be happy with, tax churches (there is no reason why they shouldnt be since they participate in the body politic by stirring up hatred), have citizens (educated ones) decide whether news channels or other members of congress make false accusation and sue their asses for libel or defamatory comments and so on. IN OTHER WORDS WE WANT OUR COUNTRY BACK!!!!

If we did we'd be insistent - as opposed to being ever so willing to accept the crumbs thrown our way in the hope that those crumbs will pave the way and eventually real change will come.

With all the plants/jobs done for here, we are already getting like Detroit.
We do wonder how long before it's similar to Somalia.

5. How about closing corporate tax loopholes |
|
Our country is missing 70b worth of tax revenue from companies that are geographically located here, and not Barbados. The problem with estimates on weapons development is that they have to be tested to see if they work, before testing they are an unknown entity. There is not a somebody or somebodies anywhere that is competent enough across the board to do what you suggest. There are specialists whom have warned against many programs such as Strategic Defense Initiative. The Office of Management and Budget is chock full of qualified CPA's. Sometimes it makes a difference, sometimes it doesn't. Until we have a domestic manufacturing base other than the weapons contractors, you will not see votes that represent a constituency. McCain Feingold was immediately tweeked. As evidenced by all the 527's. Just reworking anti-trust legislation that has been mainly absent since the turn of the century would be a step in the right direction.

but i think that if anyone even mentioned the possibility of audits or closer scrutiny things might change a bit. Not much just a bit.

....the main problem is that we have two corporate political parties and no party of the people, by the people, for the people....as hard as we try, we never seem to get the peoples' business past that governmental corporate road-block of greed and private interest....
....we're out spent, out maneuvered, divided and conquered....but we do have the numbers and one day it will all come together....when real change does comes, it will come fast....
