Raw Story: Colorado cops say Tasered 10-year-old boy was ‘out of control’

For at least the second time in three weeks, police officers have shocked an unruly 10-year-old child, and, once again, the child's adult guardians are supporting the move.

Sheriff's deputies in Pueblo, Colorado, Tasered a 10-year-old boy after arriving at the child's home Monday evening, after the boy had threatened them with a stick and a length of pipe. As of Thursday evening, the boy remained in a youth jail, according to KCNC channel 4 in Denver.

The deputies involved described the boy as an "out-of-control juvenile."

2. Good Lord. Another post mentione the arrest of kindergarteners somewhere in the US.

They really need to get a grip over these "out of control" adults.

5. If a parent can't control their 10 yr old with out involving the police

6. Parents have been authorizing shock therapy for a long time.

And not necessarily for any better reason.

This definitely falls into the category of "If they told you to go jump in a lake, would you?"

If a 10 year old has a weapon and a taser is the way to go, that's one thing. But to taser a kid for noncompliance is stupid, that's what God made handcuffs for.

There are even guides on youtube on how to make your own taser from a disposable camera. Although the ones police use are different from what they sell at stores, since they fire metal probes onto the target to deliver a jolt of electricity.

damned sheriff's deputies. I would say it is unbelievable, but, alas, think this isn't the last such case we will hear.

as the sheriff, I would fire any deputy who couldn't control a ten-year old child.
