the right is going to shred itself over LaPalin: From Pajamas Media:
Palin Mainstreams the Birthers

If she doesn’t understand that she has just mainstreamed the paranoid right then she has no business running for president.
December 4, 2009 - by Rick Moran
Page 1 of 2 Next ->

I didn’t want to write about Sarah Palin anymore.

Really, I didn’t want to. God, I didn’t want to. But every time I think I’m out, she pulls me back in.

Face it, my friends. If Sarah Palin’s nugatory understanding of everything from foreign affairs to economic matters doesn’t cause you concern, if her predilection to expand, exaggerate, or fudge the truth about herself and her past statements hasn’t yet convinced you that she is a lightweight prevaricator and doesn’t deserve your support, then this exchange with conservative talker Rusty Humphries should change your mind:

Would you make the birth certificate an issue if you ran?

I think the public, rightfully, is still making it an issue. I don’t have a problem with that. I don’t know if I would have to bother to make it an issue ’cause I think there are enough members of the electorate who still want answers.

Do you think it’s a fair question to be looking at?

I think it’s a fair question, just like I think past associations and past voting record — all of that is fair game. You know, I’ve got to tell you, too: I think our campaign, the McCain/Palin campaign didn’t do a good enough job in that area. We didn’t call out Obama and some of his associates on their records and what their beliefs were and perhaps what their future plans were. And I don’t think that that was fair to voters to not have done our jobs as candidates and as a campaign to bring to light a lot of the things that now we’re seeing made manifest in the administration.

I mean, truly, if your past is fair game and your kids are fair game, certainly Obama’s past should be. I mean, we want to treat men and women equally, right?

Hey, you know, that’s a great point, in that weird conspiracy-theory freaky thing that people talk about that Trig isn’t my real son. And a lot of people say, “Well you need to produce his birth certificate! You need to prove that he’s your kid!” Which we have done. But yeah, so maybe we could reverse that and use the same -type thinking on them.

Those who live on the fringes of American politics usually don’t realize how wacky they truly are. For the last time: The state of Hawaii issued a statement confirming that Obama was born there, thus making him a U.S. citizen. Why is that so hard to accept? There are no “questions” left to answer except in the minds of simpletons and paranoid conspiracy freaks.

No, it is not a “fair question.” It is a silly, stupid, ignorant question. No, “the public” is not making this an issue — only looney tune numbskulls are pursuing it. No, there aren’t “enough (whatever that means) members of the electorate who still want answers.” Only a small subset of the entire electorate cares.

1. If, by some miracle, Palin is the nominee in 2012
Edited on Fri Dec-04-09 12:53 PM by Neecy
It will be the ugliest, most insane campaign in American history. And she'd turn people off like a light. Palin 2012!

2. I think it would be a lot of fun with some scary bits
Edited on Fri Dec-04-09 12:59 PM by sharp_stick
The scary bits would be wondering about how many clinically insane assholes reside with me in this country and how many of them would be happy to do "ANYTHING" to make this idiotic reality tv contestent from Alaska President.

The other scary bit would be the small but nagging question... What if the psycho bitch wins?

Overall though watching her implode as the head of a ticket during every debate and press gathering would be a sight to behold and would relegate what's left of the GOP to the status of the Whigs.

on edit: typos

6. the worst electoral finish was 48-2, I think it was. I would see 50-0
by the time she was done. I could see a clean sweep for our side in all areas. It will be the death date of the republican party when and if this gal gets the nod.

5. Here's a woman who used to say
she believes in the separation of church and state. Here's a woman who fired every body at different times in the state committees because she said they were against her policies. Here's a woman that says she believes in fiscal conservatism. That the democrats are spending too much money. WELL GUESS WHAT, THE DEBT FOR THE STATE OF ALASKA WENT FROM $1M to $25M under her and not even a full term.

This stuff is on record, she can't deny it, but she does and the tea bags out there kiss her a** as being truthful and a breath of fresh air. I think she wouldn't know that truth if it bit her in the butt and the fresh air they are smelling is coming directly off a fetid swamp.

PalinGates has just posted another BIG FAT LIE from the book, and there's video to prove it, regarding alleged unfair treatment by the moderator during gubernatorial debate in 2006. This one's a whopper re a woman's right to choose.

13. Interesting....use the same things you used losing to Obama in 2008 when you run in 2012...
I think the American people have already decided that they don't mind if he:

isn't a US citizen
palled (sp?) around with terrorists
voted for anything prior to being Pres

That's like a losing baseball team not making any changes in the offseason.
