So I signed up for the Community Jobs Forum at WH website, here are questions they want you to ask
OP I posted about this:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7151495

Questions they sent me to ask:

1. From what you have seen, or seen reported about the President’s Jobs Forum on December 3rd, what seems relevant to your community?

2.What parts of your local economy are working or thriving? What businesses and sectors are expanding and hiring?

3. What parts of your local economy are not working or thriving? What businesses and sectors have been hit the hardest? What are people struggling with the most?

4. What are the opportunities for growth in your community? What businesses and sectors seem poised to rebound? What do you see as the “jobs of the future”?

5. What are the obstacles to job creation in your community? What could make local businesses more likely to start hiring?

6. What other issues and ideas should the President consider?

2. Answers:
1. From what you have seen, or seen reported about the President’s Jobs Forum on December 3rd, what seems relevant to your community?

>>> Jobs? I've heard of those.

2.What parts of your local economy are working or thriving? What businesses and sectors are expanding and hiring?

>>>

3. What parts of your local economy are not working or thriving? What businesses and sectors have been hit the hardest? What are people struggling with the most?

>>> Name something. Yep, that's it.

4. What are the opportunities for growth in your community? What businesses and sectors seem poised to rebound? What do you see as the “jobs of the future”?

>>> The heroin trade is doing pretty well. Other than that, it is mostly petty theft.

5. What are the obstacles to job creation in your community? What could make local businesses more likely to start hiring?

>>> You mean other than imports from China and a handful of other countries? Hmm. Well, nothing, really.

6. What other issues and ideas should the President consider?

>>> GET THE FUCK OUT OF AFGHANISTAN AND IRAQ and if you're going to spend money on infrastructure - DO IT THE FUCK HERE!

3. OoHH! I have some answers too!
1> Didn't see the Jobs forum, I was too busy trying to figure out how to pay rent, utilities, bank fees, etc (and have a christmas)on $700 a month welfare & no credit.

2> None - Living in a seasonal recreation economy has been in steady decline for the past 3 years, and is now worse after last fall's 'collapse'. We have a total of maybe 3-5 jobs in the classifieds at any given time, in a community of 20,000. 300 people showed up for a cashier position at the local Pizza Hut, most from al walks of experience, just trying to WORK.

3> Seasonal recreation is down since nobody can afford to play when they can't eat. Houses are either for sale or empty, renters leaving too because of no jobs. Global Warming has affected the weather so the ski season is iffy at best, and the fire season has given us a bad rap and the lake is waaaay down...The factory stores and tourist shopping areas are emptying and there is a huge HOLE in the ground where they tried to start some redevelopment, then the company went bankrupt and the city can't finish the project(and even if they could, more timeshares or a convention center is still going to stand empty because there are no buyers). Even city and county workers are being furloughed so we only have 50% of the plow drivers and maintenance workers than usual...

4> There are more head shops and pot dispensaiers in town now! ...So at least we don't care as much about the rest of the world going to hell in a handbasket  Otherwise, I don't believe there are any places doing "well"...except payday loans, forclosure and mortgage co's, and the city has not failed to keep their highest paid police & fire officers in good shape.

5> Obstacles...? uh, there is nobody spending any money, so there are no businesses to hire, so even the casinos are laying off... maybe a good winter would help temporarly (can you make it snow?) Maybe offering survival skill training to people in the mountains for the times when we will have to find our own food, build fires for warmth and build shelters with pinecones - could be lucrative as a new economic venue.

6> I wish they would print some more money and hand it out to people from trucks like they did in Iraq...would that work?

5. K&R
I wonder if the comment about Pot dispensaries will make him re-think legalization!

(Seriously, our city council had to vote for a moratorium on them we have three in our little town and a hydroponic shop and about three or four headshops... and we aren;t even in humboldt!
Unfortunately, it is a strange thing too because every employer in the area drug tests...and then most people are having to find a way to cheat to get a job because hey have a medical card or whatnot... weird dichotomy.)

6. If things are so bad
how are people managing to afford pot? Do they grow their own, or what? I'd think the headshops would be just as bad off as everything else. Maybe more so.

7. Angrier answers here.
1. From what you have seen, or seen reported about the President’s Jobs Forum on December 3rd, what seems relevant to your community?

I am still in shock about the escalation, I cannot think straight.

2.What parts of your local economy are working or thriving? What businesses and sectors are expanding and hiring?
I live near a military base. They are whooping it up like they did on 9/11 because they knew big bucks were headed their way. Many new pilots are flying right over our taxed to the hilt houses night and day. But who needs sleep anyway? Also the health care moguls are so rich they can bribe Congress and you and pass the costs onto the consumer!

3. What parts of your local economy are not working or thriving? What businesses and sectors have been hit the hardest? What are people struggling with the most?

Virtually all are suffering but due to that base, but hey they get big discounts for being military, it looks like good things are happening.
Churches seem to preach thou shalt kill to draw in the sheeple.

4. What are the opportunities for growth in your community? What businesses and sectors seem poised to rebound? What do you see as the “jobs of the future”?

There seems to be a good steady need for undertakers and folks at job bureaus to tell you there aren't any jobs. Oh you can also get paid big bucks for putting up Republican bullshit sings everywhere.

I believe gasoline is poised to strike it rich once again as no one rails against them. Future jobs I see as how to scuba dive along the current mid Atlantic states and find buried homes, etc.

5. What are the obstacles to job creation in your community? What could make local businesses more likely to start hiring?

One obstacle is the employers are used to slave wages and think minimum pay is maximum. I believe if you could randomly shoot a business owner for not hiring calling him an selfish un-American non taxpaying weasel Republican red light runner moran, that would help.

6. What other issues and ideas should the President consider?

He probably should keep right on listening to the Republicans and holding their hands since he only won by a landslide. I recall when Bush lost the majority vote but said he had a mandate (does that sound gay?) and he let Democrats die during 9/11, Katrina and California's energy crisis, it's good to see you smooching up to them non-stop.

Yellowstone could go super volcano. La Palma is past due to cleave and send a tsunami our way. Oh and that pesky Moon keeps drifting away at about two inches per year. Time to stop that.

I think if you made all the republicans pay their tax debts and honestly pay up, we would be in the money Big Time!
