New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin: "No problem" with hiiring white-collar felons as contractors
NEW ORLEANS -- Responding to a recent story about the City of New Orleans hiring convicted felons, Mayor Ray Nagin said he had 'no problem' with hiring white-collar felons as contractors.

Nagin spoke out about a 4 Investigates piece, concerning a pair of contractors recently hired by his office, who happen to be convicted felons.

Both companies were contracted by the city to conduct general repairs to city buildings, but the men heading the two companies have a recent criminal past in public corruption relating to city contracts.

"If you have a legitimate business license, if you have the expertise, and if you bid and it's a responsive bid than pretty much we're required to go with that particular person," said Nagin.

1. Yea and I voted against this asshole for a reason
But too many people didn't like his opponent simply for having the last name "Landrieu".

5. And I knew that he was going to do that too
Nagin was in it for Nagin. He had no political future regardless of his re-election as mayor and no incentive to do jack shit in his second term. Landrieu would've had his political future riding on his success or failure giving him an incentive to at least try.

4. Too bad they couldn't have been used to drive all those buses that sat in a parking lot
when You Know What took place back in '05.
