Tonight at the local XMas Parade - The GOP had a float
So tonight was our local Christmas parade, so naturally my four year old son wanted to go. Never being one to turn down a good parade, we dragged out our winter gear (very cold night here in East Tennessee - SNOW tommorrow!) and hopped in the car and headed into town. It was a festive night full of lots of good cheer, plenty of people about that seemed to be enjoying the evening and fellowship with each other, even in these trying times.

About half-way through the parade, a local candidate for Mayor was riding in the back of his pickup. Knowing that he was a Republican, I observed intently to see what kind of idiocy they were displaying. Surprisingly, the candidate and his crew were pretty well behaved and were giving out full sized candy canes instead of the miniature ones. Nice touch. But nothing could prepare for what was to come next.....

The "GRAND OLE PARTY" float was right behind. I saw the giant eagle and what appeared to be a crudely fashioned Liberty Bell towering over the truck on the trailer that it was hauling. Small tea bags hung from the rear view mirror, a subtle reminder that they wanted to dip their balls into our mouths as they destroy this country. As the float pulled alongside us, my son said "Hey daddy, it's the Grinch!". I looked up and what did I see?

The Grinch.

The Grinch who stole Christmas.

Dancing on the float as their centerpiece.

Not believing what I saw, my mouth was agape. The float stopped directly alongside us as someone ahead of them had stopped or slowed down. As soon as my mind had time to fully comprehend the irony, I let out hearty burst of laughter and said, "Well, that is very, very fitting to have the Grinch on the Republicans float." The people beside us started laughing and said, "Sir, you've got that right". Soon, the people on the float noticed the commotion and looked over at us with glaring eyes and actually said to us, "You're killing this country you Liberal!"

I responded, "Merry Christmas to you too - and Happy Ramadan, Hannukah, and Kwanza as well."

If I hadn't been holding my son on my shoulders, I would have been all over that taking pictures. I've sent out e-mails to my friends to find out if anyone has a photo, since several were texting me saying "DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?!?!?!" as it passed them along the parade night. I'll be sure to post pictures if I can obtain any, but take my word - it was the funniest and most fitting thing I've seen in a very long time.

6. Seriously. My wife and I have been in tears all night
We were fairly close to the beginning of the route, but apparently they still didn't get it and he was on the float all the way to the end.

I'm burning up the phone lines trying to get someone who has a photo. I'm sure there will be some pop up soon, but the wait is killing me.

Out of 400 friends, most of all liberals, surely one of them snapped a pic of it.

3. ROFL., "Perhaps, that his shoes were too tight. Or it could be that his head wasn't screwed on right
But I think that the most likely reason of all may have been that his heart was two sizes too small."

7. You need to rhyme a little more
Try to write it more in the style of Dr Seuss. But it's still a good post, OP.

10. Hilarious! Our local Dem party will have a float in our local Xmas parade tomorrow morning
We have a huge sleigh we just made and painted today and it will be pulled by two Democratic donkeys (this logo: also just cut and painted today).

I'll post pics tomorrow. Our county went blue last year after quite some time being red Red RED. We're showing the idiots that we don't intend to quietly slink back to our corners, but stay in their faces all year long.

I'm looking forward to your pics of the GOP Grinch float. Didn't anyone associated with that debacle think that someone might make that assumption about them? Oh that's right - that would require a working brain cell amongst themselves.

21. Yes indeed
The Police Officer parked his car on the train tracks. Little did he know that it was still in use by Norfolk Southern and his car got the meet the front of the train.

Actually pretty funny, since the officer was out of his car directing traffic.
