I'm not trying to say that she is either inocent OR guilty. I don't know the case well enough to say one way or the other. I understand that there have been potential judicial and police screwups. But I also know that she did some pretty unusal things that really hurt her own case. In other words this doesn't seem to be a clear cut case either way. However the media seems to be playing this simply as a "beautiful inocent americna girl wronged by evil vengeful foeign judicial system". They keep interviewing her family and friends to no end. Well of course THEY are sympathetic to her and think she is innocent they are here FAMILY!! Let's interview some people on the other side, get some experts in there on the Italian court system!

Let's have some coverage of this that is a little less biased!

1. IMO the coverage is chauvinistic, "American Exceptionalism", we're better than them...
poor girl, poor family, mean Italians.

I agree with you, where's the other side of this story.

3. The one thing different
in Italian courts and Americans courts is "you are guilty til the defense proves you innocent". The commentators say this makes it difficult to present a case. Like in England. So what they do is get the verdict overturned. So maybe that is what they are trying to do.

I, like you, don't know one way or the other. But no matter what part of the world you are from, what makes the best sensational press that's what they post to the world. True or not.
