Palin gets a hero's welcome at Fort Hood
Palin gets a hero's welcome at Fort Hood

Former VP candidate signs copies of her book and says royalties on some book sales will benefit a rampage victims fund
By GARY SCHARRER
Austin Bureau

Dec. 4, 2009, 10:35PMFORT HOOD — Rebecca Dalberg's excitement over Sarah Palin's book signing Friday night was so intense, she wanted to spend the night in a parking lot to assure a front-row seat.

Her retired military husband, Sonny Dalberg, quashed that idea because the Copperas Cove couple live less than five minutes away from the sprawling Army post where the former Alaska governor signed about 1,000 copies of her new book, Going Rogue.

The Dalbergs, who arrived 11 hours before the event, were among the first people to navigate a maze of meandering lines at the post exchange before reaching last year's GOP vice presidential candidate.

Warm welcome
The crowd greeted her entry with a boisterous “Sar-ah, Sar-ah” chant.

“She's human. She listens to people. She doesn't think that she's better than anyone,” Rebecca Dalberg said. “She's all-American. That's Mom, apple pie and John Wayne.”

The Dalbergs paid $21 each for four books. Each person was allowed to bring two to Palin for autographs.

Palin has said royalties on books sold during her stop at Fort Hood will benefit the victims of last month's mass shooting and their families.

1. ....
Theresa Cockran of nearby Nolanville came away convinced she had just met the next president of the United States. “She's like me. She's got a heart and a soul,” said Cockran, wife of a military retiree. “I am so happy I almost wet my pants.”

Bwahahaha!!

4. You can fool some of the people all of the time,
and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time.

Or, she can fool some of the fools to wet their pants!

that his band mates quote Glenn Beck constantly and simply refer to him (my friend) as "The Liberal" It is scary.

12. The Scam Worked...
Note that most Mooselini lovers never can cite any political policy she stands for...it's all a cult of personality. No matter if its exposed that Palin has no substance nor integrity, that just seems to enhance the image of her followers. The lack of any meat other than raw meat and platitutdes also is what makes people think she's "real". Add to this Bible Spice's narcasistic games that amp up the sympathy and you're seeing a great scam at play. She's an "Evita"...a so-called "commoner" that somehow can transform the world yet has clue. It's all a fantasy, but one that's making her lots of money and keeping her mug in the public eye.

The fun here is to see how this plays out going into 2012 as she is sure to screw up the GOOP nomination process...it could be fun watching the Palinistas and the Paulbot go at it.

17. Evita never quit her job so she could have a book ghost-written for her
Evita had ten times the integrity and ability Palin does. Palin makes reality TV contestants look good. At least they try.

15. This is a prime example of why I don't support an all volunteer army.
The majority of those enlisting are at best high school grads with many having to obtain their GED after enlisting. Before Bush drove the economy into the dump they were having a hard time making their quotas and had to lower their standards time and time again. Cut off from any meaningful interaction with the main stream of society, these young people are subject to group think. It is not in the least surprising that many regard Palin as someone to be admired since they share the same myopic view since they have been brain washed.
