And as they have demonstrated repeatedly, republicons do not take responsibility for their transgressions. And the republicon-corporate media borg does not hold them accountable either. It just don't happen.
Republicons are 'special' that way.

Dukasus...did not have one thing to do with the release of Willie Horton. The legislation to release offenders after serving special lengths of time was voted on and passed by the state congress. It was automatic. Although George H.W. Bush and Lee Atwell managed to turn it in to something different. Making the public think Dukasus, passed the bill. In fact I think it might have been passed before he took office. I am going to check. But that's how the republicans work. They don't give a damn how big the lie is, they only care about making the gullible idiots in the American public believe it, which they surely did.

6. Al Gore was the first to attack Dukakis on the weekend passes issue |
|
He did it in a debate in New York. He asked Dukakis about "weekend passes for convicted criminals" in the debate. He didn't mention Horton by name but he specifically mentioned two other criminals who committed murder after escaping from their prison furlough. The Republicans then took the ball and ran with it.
