Hillary Clinton: America becoming "weary of war"

Nato nations today pledged an extra 7,000 troops for Afghanistan as the US secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, in Europe to drum up more military support for the campaign, acknowledged that America was becoming "weary of war".

At least 25 nations would provide the additional forces from next year, "with more to come", the Nato secretary general, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, told reporters after talks with Clinton.

2. Gee, ya think?
I clearly misunderstood Obama to have indicated he was running to get us out of wars, not more deeply involved. I keep on asking myself how a McCain Presidency would be different.

What better use of public money during a world-wide recession that pounding it into the sands and mountains of Afghanistan? Why, we'll have the country licked into shape in no time a-tall!

5. NATO, and The UN and other bodies of prominent Western citizens are
Coming unravelled these days.

The Western nations slide further into bankruptcy, while the Chinese and other nations of the Far East have the economy to fund a new UN, perhaps one based in Laos, and more tot he liking of the Chinese, than the American controlled UN.

it is always good for the less informed and the world to at least hear these words from our SOS. Cheers to Sec. Clinton!

12. I fucking HATE when politicians state the obvious and it gets reported as big, breaking news.
Gee, Hillary, nothing gets by you. Most Americans were weary of war in 2003, for fuck's sake. It only took you six years to pick up on that? I'm glad you've got your finger so squarely on the pulse of the nation.

By the way, Hillary, here's a scoop for you: we're also tired of Sarah Palin, Tiger Woods, Paris Hilton, cancer, AIDS, the current economy, and clueless politicians. Announce that and the Guardian will run a three-part cover story on you.

Good to see that ducking all that Bosnian sniper fire didn't hamper your observational skills. :eyes:

14. Thank you Captain Obvious!
America's been weary of war for some time now.

Obama had better have something awesome in that strategy of his for Afghanistan. If it's the same old shit that the Bushies were doing, America's gonna be very unhappy...

Edited on Sun Dec-06-09 01:58 AM by Chulanowa
First Obama giving America the action on Afghanistan he promised is TERRIBAD, and then president Bush didn't start the war, Obama did, and now Hillary Clinton... Hillary fucking Clinton, who wanted to cram more bombs up more asses than any two other Democratic candidates, is telling us "America is weary of war"

Well goddamn, if she'd said that 14 months ago, maybe she'd be the president. Tough shit.

22. As opposed to blood lusting for war?
You know, I do believe that it's possible that a certain segment of our population does have a lust for it. Maybe she's referring to them, since we never saw the wisdom in more than a strategic attack in Afghanistan.
