Gateway Pundit launched the kind of hyperbolic sex scare story -- Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Promotes Porn in the Classroom!!! -- that will be bouncing around wingnuttia for the entire Advent season. It must have just seemed like the Christmas-y thing to do.

Perhaps the story’s been a little too successful. All the repeated warnings about sexually explicit material as the link gets reposted have sent “the just curious” flocking to the site, which keeps crashing.

Now, Gateway insists that it’s not the prurient interests of its conservative Christian readers that’s making the site crash but wrathful cyber attacks by gays and lesbians.

Pardon my skepticism.

Otherwise, the conclusion I draw is: your opinion is that freepers being gay or bi-curious is somehow distasteful, when the real story is that they would be hypocrites for crashing a sex site no matter WHAT the orientation of the subject matter.

Honestly, I never thought of it that way, but now that you brought it up I really can see your point. When I read the article, I thought it was just funny that late on a Friday night enough self-righteous and otherwise unoccupied freepers rushed over to see what they already knew they would scream hysterically about being "morally offensive" that they crashed the site. Funnier still, the site posting the pics claimed it was a cyber attack.
