"meeting the natives" on travel channel |
|
Edited on Mon Dec-07-09 01:08 AM by medeak
BRILLIANT! Nakid Pacific natives coming to America to give message of peace and love "we hear you are killing people" and environment "our yams are not like grandfathers" Montana visit incredible watching 5,000 cattle eating in feed lots. "if they don't eat green things there is no nutrition"...and antibiotics given for 28 days "won't that make our bodies sick eating animals with medicine?" "we ask America to lay down it's guns and only kill animals not people" In Montana..that's a huge message. Love this show!

1. I love watching them, so charming and genuine, but I wonder what effect we have on them. |
|
There has to be an effect, I hope it's not a bad one.
I have to guess their native community already has frequent contact, and hope this show hasn't doubled that amount of contact.
Anyway, I could hang with those guys, they're really fun!

12. I think the unrecs come from people who scoff at watching any TV show, especially |

Beautiful people with a beautifully simple message.
Their observations of the huge cattle farm were just spot on, the comments as the can of Bruce's Yams was opened and mashed were really good too. While raking leaves in the back yard they commented that this is what cattle should be eating and why the family grew grass instead of vegetables. They also couldn't understand why there should be any homeless people in NY with so many buildings around - they'd just met an old homeless guy in the park. They were amazed at the long distance kill shot of a deer with a "musket" and desperately wanted to me Pres. Obama.
I know I'm skipping all around but this show had so many great observations and insight from people who had never been here before and who immediately saw the problems we have in our society. Just wow.
Can't wait to see them travel to Ga. and Calif.
Great show everyone should watch.

10. I just caught it for the first time last night. |

I just loved it! The part about their sweet potatoes being smaller than in his grandfather's time was worth VOLUMES of scientific study. What was that Dylan said? "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows."
