Watch part two

The Arab Street takes viewers to the beating heart of some of the world's most vibrant cities.

In this episode we visit New York, home to three and a half million Arab Americans.
It is a land which offers them opportunities and a chance to escape the troubles in the Middle East.

Muslims serving in the US military, America's anti-terrorism laws, job prospects for the young - all are issues which excite strong opinions amongst Arab New Yorkers

In this edition of The Arab Street we pose the questions on which everyone has an opinion.

We visit the Bay Ridge district in Brooklyn - only eight miles away from Ground Zero - where Muslim and Jewish communities have lived side by side for over 20 years.

We will explore how the Arab community have been affected by 9/11, how they get on with their Jewish neighbours and whether they feel Arab or American.

Are they prepared to serve in the US military? Has the so-called 'war on terror' changed their views on the 'American Dream'?

The Arab Street - New York can be seen from Monday, December 7, 2009 at the following times GMT: Monday: 0530, 1130; Tuesday: 0130, 1400, 2330; Wednesday: 0630, 1630; Thursday: 0300, 1430; Friday: 0600, 1930; Saturday: 1030.
