The head of the Office of Personnel Management instructs Blue Cross/Blue Shield NOT to enroll a lesbian federal employee's partner as her health-insurance beneficiary...saying now that he does not have the "authority" to obey a judge's order. :crazy:

How does anyone not have the authority to follow a court order? This is sounding an awful lot like the Bush administration, refusing to follow court orders because - yikes! - they're demanding that you give a lesbian health benefits. I thought we voted for the good guys. I thought a Democratic administration, run by a man who is a member of a minority, would actually go out of their way to try to help our community, to try to help the cause of civil rights. Wow had I no idea these insurance agency's had more authority than Federal Judges then I would have kept my mouth shut about health care reform. Shit, next thing you know I'll be doing time at BC/BS headquarters...
