Levi Johnston: 'It's Great' to be a Gay Icon

Levi Johnston appears on The Joy Behar Show tonight. In this preview clip, she asks him about his Playgirl portfolio and a gay porn movie with a Levi look-alike. She also asks him how he feels about being objectified by gay men.

Asks Behar: "How does it feel to be a gay icon? You come from a conservative background, right? And Alaska's not the most liberal state, and yet you seem to be very comfortable being a gay icon."

Answers Johnston:"Growing up in Wasilla, it is . I've never even seen a gay guy in Wasilla, I don't think. I've seen gay guys, but...once I started doing all these tours and everything, you know, I just...they're people too. It doesn't matter to me. It's just more fans...it's great."

I really like Levi -- I think he's a good-hearted kid who asked for none of this but is now making the most of it. Good for him.

People make fun of him but he seems like the decent guy who wants to make money for his kid because he knows in a few years he won't be famous and he'll be a fisherman or factory worker or store manager.

I hope Levi has a happy life where he finds a lady who still think he's cute when he's 40 and 30 pounds heavier. That he saves and sends his kids to college and when he's grilling out or fishing with his friends that they, years later, still get him to tell a yarn about those "crazy Palins".

and if there are gay people out there, they're pretty closeted. Wasilla is where many of Anchorage's religious right went to live when this city got too "diverse."

I think Levi's comment also demonstrates his naivete in addition to his good heart. He doesn't seem to be the sort who would have been running around looking for gay people to bash.
