The GOP wants to use the TARP money to pay down the "National Debt"
We could pay it down faster by repealing every single frivolous Bush Tax Cut!

3. Gonna Spend Money To Make Money...
You'd think the "pro-business" rushpublicans would understand that. Money directed back into the private sector through low interest loans and government work products do two things. They create incomes for people who have none...thus generating income taxes. Next, those who have the jobs will then go and spend at local merchants and energize the retail economy...then, again, generating sales taxes. In essence this is a good "business" investment as the only way back to a propserous economy is the rebuilding of our middle class and industrial base.

But then that would mean more competition for the pet corporates the GOOP protect above all else. It's the profits of their puppetmasters that matter and if that money isn't going into their pockets then they don't want it spent anywhere else. If we've learned anything the past 30 years of "deregulation" and "Raygunomics", it's not about competition or free enterprise, it's about how much money you can stuff in your pockets.

As usual the GOOP is the party of the selfish and self absorbed.

6. You Got It...
Don't forget they are revising history so that every problem the country faces began and ends with President Obama. They know that if Democrats are successful with meaningful reforms, the GOOP is screwed for years, if not decades.

5. That money should be used to create jobs,

government jobs, directly.

But it won't.

7. They want to borrow money to pay down the debt?
That reminds me of a story years ago when the young recruits to the British Grenadier Guards were set up with checking accounts and when they were overdrawn, wrote checks to cover it.

10. Some explain
when bush was pushing the limits of reason on spending money for war and giving most of it to Halliburton, where was their worry about debt..and by the way, a lot of the money that went to Halliburton, did trickle down, it trickled to cheney with all the stock options he kept, illegally.

But the republicans, they are pushing and pushing, that the Democrats are spending, and the limpy glass eyed MSM are going right along with it. If they were real journalist and were doing what the media used to do, back when they had honor and guts, they would be explaining to the public about the ruse the republicans are now using to obstruct and destroy the rebuilding of this country by the Democrats.

11. "obstruct and destroy the rebuilding"
Winning(stealing)a few seats back next year trumps saving the country. I hope the American people are not stupid enough to rise to the bait!

14. Oh I know! Let's borrow half the money we owe on the national debt to pay down half of the total
then next year we'll borrow half again, and put it all towards retiring the national debt, like the year before, and so on. We'll have all our debt erased in no time!

Somebody said something about a geometric progression, but I didn't follow what he was gibbering on about.
