2. I have tried to explain to
mu nutso republican relatives that Reagan caused the mess to start AND that he borrowed all that social security money to pay for things the government couldn't afford. Mostly because he gave the rich and companies such big big tax breaks and cuts. Of course administrations have borrowed since, but it started with Reagan's policies. They won't hear of it. They are saying social security and medicare are what is draining our country. Yeah is sure as hell is, because the government STOLE it's money.

7. What they couldn't get under Bush they'll get under Obama
Just like Bush I and Clinton....Clinton turned out to be the "best" "republican" president we have had since Eisenhower.

9. Is Kos slowing down? Cause this has been a problem since H.W. and Grover Norquist...
decided that they needed to 'starve the beast' enough to drown the rest in a bathtub...and there's no better way to either starve the beast or slit America's throat in a bathtub than give all the money to people at the top, and squander trillions of dollars on endless death and war

They've been looting SS since before Gore's lock box - to privatize it is the republican brass ring

10. My email to White House today, other places "where the money is"
Today's example of me pissing in the wind:

I am reading more news and editorials which indicate there are elements (Bernanke and all the usual suspects) which see raiding the Social Security trust to help solve the deficit problems as their solution of choice. I am absolutely opposed to taking any of the money of the working class for deficit reduction. We are owed back a lot of money paid into Social Security and I would like to see this paid back. I was alarmed to see Chairman Bernanke advocate for "entitlement reform," a nice euphemism for stealing what little the workers have left. He referenced Willie Sutton, the bank robber, who said he robbed banks because, "that's where the money is." That was most appropriate because it certainly would be robbing, in a reverse Robin Hood scenario. I do not believe addressing the deficit should be a priority any time in the near future unless we want to see the 2nd dip Roosevelt experienced in 1937. If you must, for whatever political reason you see there, address the deficit I suggest you start with taxes on the wealthy and job creation which would increase revenue. You might let Chairman Bernanke know, that is also where the money is. And a heck of lot more of it, too.
