Sigh, premiums are going up 68% next year...for the exact same coverage. |

My company is very generous. They pay all of the employee's portion and 50% of the family portion. It doesn't affect me as much because I make enough to offset everything. But some of my workers who were paying $234.00 per month for not great insurance, will now be paying $390.00. I don't know how many of my hourly folks are going to afford that, the company may have to step in and take on more of the burden.
The policy has a huge deductible too, but the company subsidizes all but $500.00 of that independently.

And coverage is decreasing. I had a hard time trying to afford what I was paying this year, I have no idea how I will afford the $514 a month I will be paying next year :(

5. And how long can your company keep paying that much of the premium |
|
At some point it breaks the back of the business and something has to give.
But all Congress is worried about is the insurance companies.

7. The fact that our representatives refuse to implement Single Payer will destroy us eventually |
|
If rates continue to rise they will have no choice. Soon even republican voters will see that our current system does not work. Profits made from the suffering of others is ugly indeed.
