Is he telling listeners the economy is going to hell and the only way to protect yourself is to horde gold...and btw, I just happen to know a company or two that will give you a "deal"? I've heard the commercial on Thom's show but never have heard him frighten and misinform listeners to benefit himself and a sponsor.

Seems like Dreck is pushing these dudes cause they're some of the few that hung with him. He's lost almost every national account, thus he needs these guys to pay his bills and keep his little treehouses on the airwaves.

Radio revenues are in the dumpers...many companies are on the verge of bankruptcy. Radio screwed its own pooch with lame formats, hate radio and destroying local operations and thus advertisers have gone elsewhere to reach their market (cable TV, internet) and radio now reaches for whatever scraps it can find. This is especially the case with networks like Air America that has never been able to attract big name advertisers...many whom avoid controversial programs and formats...and are struggling to stay afloat. I recently heard the revenue numbers of the local Progressive talk station in my area and they were embarassing...thus any way to make money is surely welcome.

Gold is something that many have advocated investing in, it is his show, and I don't think he has mentioned that company by name himself on his show (but even then, I still don't see an issue with promoting a company you use on your own show).
