To Judd Gregg just now, who's bitching that the repaid TARP money shouldn't be used for job creation.
He didn't really have an answer to her question. Finally, after much stumbling and mumbling, he said brightly, "You know, reducing the deficit is a darned good idea, too".
If we lose seats next year, we have no one to blame but our gutless politicians. The Republicans have NO better options.

i didn't hear mr gregg loudly protesting when cheney, their godlike leader said and i quote 'deficits don't matter'

If Democrats act to put people back to work, some people may be tempted to vote for a Democrat out of personal self interest. The is the same reason Republicans are opposing Health Care.
