Why all the whining about the deficit? Especially from blue dogs

and now our President is starting to harp on it. What happens when we reduce the deficit......

we cut taxes to the wealthy. Republicans want to dismantle social programs and the only way to do that is to reduce the deficit, cut taxes and ultimately "starve the beast".

Krugman has said that our deficit in nowhere near dangerous territory yet and that the only way to get out of this slump, is to make it larger.

I think we need a campaign that explains all this to the general public.

1. Of course, its not true that it is the "only way" to do that - just the only way we'll talk about.

2. What would be another way? I must admit I haven't heard any other

solutions other than spend our way out of it or tax cuts to encourage businesses. Since we have already seen that tax cuts don't work - I'm thinking that it must be the opposite.
