41. The valve seats are induction hardened.
So they do fine on unleaded. 1973 saw the introduction of a more closed combustion chamber like the pre-1972 with a higher roof so they don't suffer from detonation issues like the 1972 open chamber.

More than you wanted to know.

20. Drove a Saturn Aura this last weekend
Wanted a mid-size car to haul my son and his wife with us while we were on vacation, so I went back to Enterprise, and swapped the Honda Civic for the Aura. It was like birth trauma getting in and out of the thing, the post between the front and rear doors is set way too far forward.

Best car of the weekend: the Toyota Camry we rented at the airport on Thanksgiving Day, when there was nothing at Enterprise at Sea-Tac. Quiet ride, comfortable, plenty of trunk room. But with airport taxes, it was too expensive to keep for the next week.

The true Legend Killer, built in Kentucky (engine in Michigan, I think). At 1/3 the price, can easily tell the offerings from Lamborghini and Ferrari to suck it.

38. The thought of "I'm more patriotic then you because"
makes me wanna :puke:

If someone can afford to buy a brand new XXX car that is American made & built - great. That doesn't make them MORE patriotic then the 29 year old dad who is working his ass off to provide for his family of 5, and has to drive a 10 year old Haundia because it's all he could afford from the used car lot when his last car broke down.

Sorry.. i'm sure it wasn't the intent, but the "Who's more patriotic" thing is so right-wing Republican Conservative Palin-Loving that it makes me sick to my stomach.

54. A "fake asskicker" is a front-wheel-drive import with stickers and a bigassed wing on the back.
And one of those noise-making cans on the exhaust, and some ridiculous ground effects. You've seen 'em. They're hilarious.

I'd post about patriotic bicycles, but both of my bikes were made in Canada. (yes, I ride Giants)
