Two female Romance language instructors were tossed out of their Brooklyn high school after being caught "undressed" in an empty classroom, sources told the Daily News Tuesday.

Students at James Madison High School in Midwood were watching a talent show in the auditorium while Alini Brito and Cindy Mauro were speaking the international language of love, sources said.

A janitor stumbled on French teacher Mauro, 33, and Brito, 29, a married Spanish instructor, and tattled to school officials on Nov. 20.

Both tenured teachers were removed from the classroom and sent to Education Department "rubber rooms" while they're investigated for misconduct, sources said.

hearing. What you find in the typical "due process hearing" are all kinds of illegalities pulled by school districts in order to protect their worthless administrators. Few teachers ever "win" these rigged hearings.

and there was a very specific "moral turpitude" clause in his contracts; getting "jiggy" with anyone, not just a student, anywhere on school grounds was a definite no-no and would trigger the clause. I don't think things have changed that much since then, either.

that it protected you against everything except being caught in the act with a student in the classroom...never thought about with another teacher. Since it was the same gender teacher - that probably falls in the same category as having sex with a student in enough people's minds to mean bye-bye.

All kidding aside, as a parent (and as a former teacher) I would not want anyone whose judgment (as to appropriate time and place) is that close to zero teaching my child (or as a fellow teacher). Reasonably decent judgment is important with respect to far too many aspects of teaching.

Many years ago I had two co-workers who liked to go at it in the storage closet next to my office during lunchtime. They assumed, wrongly, that nobody could hear them. I ignored them the first three times they did it, but I got irritated the fourth time and walked into the room, grabbed a ream of paper off the shelf next to her, and said to them in the most neutral and matter-of-fact manner I could muster, "Nice. Very professional behavior" and I walked out.

Problem solved, and neither of them were able to face me without turning beet red for MONTHS. More importantly, my office was quiet during lunch and I no longer had to worry about the origin of various spots on the supply closet work table.
