Tiger Woods loses not just par but Congress
December 9, 2009 | 10:08 am

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/12/tiger-woods-loses-not-just-par-but-congress.html

For several years, California Democrat Joe Baca has been introducing a bill to give the Congressional Gold Medal -- the highest civilian honor awarded by Congress -- to golfing star Tiger Woods. The citation: "In recognition of his service to the nation in promoting excellence and good sportsmanship, and in breaking barriers with grace and dignity by showing that golf is a sport for all people."

But today Baca, an avid golfer, told the Hill newspaper that he was withdrawing the bill. With Woods sort of radioactive at the moment and congressional approval ratings in the tank already, somehow it just didn't seem like a good idea.

“In light of the recent developments surrounding Tiger Woods and his family, I will not pursue legislation awarding him the Congressional Gold Medal this session," he said.

But next session...

6. You may have it right.
I don't think I've seen a recent example of his assholiness to anyone who clears their throat during his backswing.

Though Gatorade says they'd planned the pull the drink named after him months earlier. Did they know about the affairs months earlier, or did they simply not get around to mentioning it to anyone?
