The mods generally do a good job, but sometimes obvious ones like OMC and Fredda Weinberg and others slip through the cracks.

The one thing, as I state below, that allows trolls here for so long is the policy against callouts. Trolls love that policy; it lets them live here much, much longer than they can on other boards (boards on any topic, I might add; not just political ones).

I think our admins need to rethink that policy. OMC depended on it. So have others.

FINALLY, that fucker's gone. I had him pegged for a long time, but DU rules forbid troll call-outs (inappropriately, IMO- other boards don't do this).

We have long been wondering what happened to DU, why the place is so rightwing lately... well, frankly, it's because we cannot call trolls trolls until they get really, really obvious. Other boards get rid of such types much much faster than we do here bceause their users can call them out. As we all know, several now known to be trolls (and banned as such) have been here for a long time.

Internet trolls depend on rules against callouts, which is why we have seen a rash of longtime trash being taken out of here. I really do think the admins need to reevaluate the troll callout policy; I've seen the more obvious ones rub our noses in the fact that we can't call them out.

Trolls like that policy. Obviously, our admins need to reconsider it.
