Colorado cow mutilations baffle ranchers (Graphic)
Schuster just reported on this, so I looked up the original article. http://www.denverpost.com/search/ci_13956752

This is VERY bizarre. Recommend reading the whole thing if this interests you (it isn't long).

Four calves, all killed overnight. Their innards gone. Tongues sliced out. Udders carefully removed. Facial skin sliced and gone. Eyes cored away. Not a single track surrounding the carcasses, which were found in pastures locked behind two gates and a mile from any road. Not a drop of blood on the ground or even on the remaining skin.

*snip*

Sanchez is a salt-of-the-earth-type fellow who put three kids through college running cattle. Yet, he says he and his wife marveled at incandescent blue lights hovering over a ridge near his pastures in July and August. He declined to speculate about the lights.

"I just say the truth and that's what I saw," he says.

Strange.

9. A serial killer who kidnapped calves,
Edited on Thu Dec-10-09 04:20 PM by intheflow
took them somewhere else to perform his "craft, then chartered a helicopter to drop the cleanly butchered, yet incomplete, carcasses in a field?

This is just a weird story all around, but I don't think you can definitively say it was a serial killer. Just as likely a would-be butcher practicing his craft, or a vet wannabe, though none of these options explain why there were no footprints or tire tracks around the carcasses. Weird, weird, weird!

39. Well, the article says this kind of thing has happened hundreds of times
in this region since 1967. You'd think someone--some police officer, some rancher, someone would have seen a track at some time. It's a very dusty area, you notice tracks. And why would the ranchers lie? They're out of stock, that's money lost to them.

No humans could mutilate calves like that.

5. Very much so... I hadn't realized these inicidents trace back to the 60s
and were so numerous-- in Colorado and elsewhere. Very bizarre. I'll leave the speculation to others, but it certainly seems inexplicable.

42. We had that happen here in Tennessee back in the late 70's/early 80's
No one has ever been able to explain it, besides trying to blame it on devil worshippers.... but no one buys that around here.

No one can explain away the fact that there was no tracks and no trace of blood.

Peace,

Ghost

7. it is quite possible that
the blue lights were an alien craft and that they experiment on cows. For whatever reason they are not experimenting on humans. We should consider ourselves lucky.

8. I haven't a problem w/the idea of other beings visiting earth...
But the idea that a species sophisticated enough to have mastered interplanetary travel having a recurring need to "experiment" on lowly creatures just seems ... well, dumb.

21. Well out of the top of my head there are reasons
1.- Intergalactic beings are somewhat militaristic and need to know what we eat. Basic intel you know... of course that is the human in me speaking.

2.- We experiment with animals all the time... just saying.

Of course methinks there is a far more ahem Terran origin to this, but I could not prove it... and there is a reason why I cannot prove it... they are good if you get me drift.

22. Guess in my mind's eye such beings would be well beyond the need to 'experiment'
... in ways that don't have any seemingly rational point ... I mean, what's to learn, exactly, that such advanced creatures wouldn't have gleaned from the first few times they shredded an animal?

29. Yep and I am the firest one to say
that it is the height of hubris to think that there is no intelligent life somewhere else in the universe. It is also the height of hubris to think that since we can't it means others could not do things like travel faster than light.

Hey. why would they come? I am a cynic... the same reason we spend money to send explorers to the four corners of the world.

But cattle mutilation related to Aliens? If this is truly an Alien related phenomena... well I guess I don't want to actually meet these guys.

:-)

And given that 95% of all UFOs are ... pretty terran in origin...

15. Meh.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cattle_mutilation#Natural_causes

The hypothesis that natural phenomena account for most mutilation characteristics has been validated by a number of experiments, including one cited by long-time scientific skeptic Robert T. Carroll, conducted by Washington County (Arkansas) Sheriff's Department. In the experiment, the body of a recently deceased cow was left in a field and observed for 48 hours. During the 48 hours, postmortem bloating was reported to have caused incision-like tears in the cow's skin that matched the "surgical" cuts reported on mutilated cows, while the action of blowflies and maggots reportedly matched the soft tissue damage observed on mutilated cows.

17. Happening in the San Luis Valley?
It's a huge valley that's very sparsely populated, so little by way of light pollution to block the night sky view. Many people down there will believe it's UFO-related, I can tell you that. By some accounts, the San Luis Valley has the most UFO sightings per capita per year of any area of the country. They even have a little UFO tourist trap down there. It's a pretty funky valley with natural lithium hot springs and the largest sand dunes in the United States. I guess I'd go there if I were an alien; I certainly love going there as a human. (Though I imagine it would suck big time if I was a calf.:()

25. Somebody speculated a few years ago that this mutilations had something to do
with Mad Cow Disease and a coverup of government attempts to study it in herds near the area where prion diseases first showed up in deer and cattle in NE CO........

It made more sense to me than any of the other theories.

I would love to see one of these carcasses up close and personal and FRESH, just to see what I can make of it........
