Best wishes to DUer David Sirota on his new radio show.
Don't PM me....I don't KNOW his handle. ;) I know only that he has been here for a long time.

"Friends:

Many of you know I've been filling in as a radio host for the last 9 months, and so I wanted to share some big personal/professional news with you: Today, Clear Channel made it official by announcing the launch of The David Sirota Show - a daily drive-time radio show each weekday from 7am-10am MST (9am-12pm ET). The show is anchored at KKZN-AM760, Clear Channel's statewide progressive talk station here in Colorado. You can listen in at AM760 locally here in Colorado, or online from anywhere at http://www.am760.net/pages/DavidSirota.html

I will still be writing my weekly syndicated newspaper column and my book, and this is a really great opportunity to add to that work. But this is not just a great opportunity for me, but for us as a movement. It's an opportunity for discussion, debate and journalistic analysis from a progressive perspective each and every weekday morning right here in the Great American Heartland. And here's the thing - we're not going to be carrying any water for either political party. As I said in the Clear Channel press release that I've attached, "Talk radio often ends up being a mindless screaming match between Democratic and Republican Party propagandists - but what we need is more frank debate, honest discussion and tough questions."

In the last 9 months of filling in, we've had terrific guests - from U.S. Senators like Bernie Sanders and Michael Bennet; to national journalists like Bill Moyers, Naomi Klein, David Brancaccio, Rachel Maddow and Dylan Ratigan; to legendary writers and comedians like Carl Reiner, Lewis Black, James Ellroy, Steven Coonts, Noam Chomsky and Chuck Klosterman. We're trying to provide a solid mix of politics and pop culture (the intersection of which is what my upcoming book is all about) - and it should be quite a ride.

Obviously, if you have topic/guest ideas, please send them along here, or go to the show's website at http://www.am760.net/pages/DavidSirota.html I'm going to need your help to make this the best show it can possibly be.

Again, I've attached the full press release from Clear Channel. If you want to know more about the show and some thoughts about what we aim to achieve, check out Westword's new article on the show at http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2009/12/david_siro...

Rock the boat,
David"

2. Yep - he'll be the only host who would even dare mention BCCI.
Of course, he may be the only one who ever bothered to read about it.

3. Absolutely! We should be very proud. I wish I could hear him in my area
I am subjected to a horrific mix of Becks and Savages and Limbaughs and Hannities with almost no sane voices sprinkled in.

5. Congratulations David!
You really should look up a man named Craig Hulet
for the show.

He is the one tpb really don't want on the airwaves.

Incredible interviews with him were broadcast here
in Los Angeles for several years.

Changed my life forever.

10. Congrats to David Sirota, but I'm feeling bad for Jay Marvin.

Sirota's predecessor at AM760, Jay Marvin, has been fighting with horrendous back problems and is still in pain and trying to recover. I was hoping that by now he would be able to work again, but I guess that's not in the cards. :(

Nevertheless, congratulations to David Sirota - Jay wouldn't give his mike to anyone else.

11. When I was trucking and in the area...
I made it a point to listen to Jay Marvin's show. And the last 2 lines I drove for regularily ran through Denver. Unfortunately, it's on the same time as Stephanie Miller. Neither was on Sirius live at the time I was trucking (Alex Bennett was). David will do great, the only problem is that it may not be a local show anymore. AM 760 during the day reached past Colo Springs, Limon, Cheyenne, and even Laramie. Granted, it doesn't have the reach of KOA, but will do. And I'm out of trucking now, so kinda stuck in Carolina.
