Under Which Plan Will People Be Forced To Buy Health Insurance? |
|
This so-called fucking "compromise"?
A robust public option?
Single payer?
Trigger?
repuke plan? (I know)
I'm a little confused, no, more than a little.

This little mandate of theirs is an exacting illumination of how FAR the gap has grown between those who legislate and those on the receiving end of the legislation.
I don't know ANY one who can afford to spend anything right now.
So the elite corporate powers that be have just demonstrated how out of touch with reality they have orbited.
As the saying goes, you can't squeeze blood from a turnip.

3. I think the plan is to penalize them at tax time. Good luck with that. |
|
People who can't afford the insurance more than likely can't afford the penalty either.

6. Offer them debtor forgiveness if they enlist to serve the Empire's military? |

Wouldn't count it out.

I own my house and land but have very little income lately. I'm uninsured, and the way I understand it, people in my income range get a break. Is that true? Anyway, I'm 59, and by the time any benefits of all this BS won't matter, as I'll be eligible for Medicare by then.

12. In many states you can't have hardly any assets to receive assistance |
|
I wonder if they will have a similar requirement for subsidized health care plans. At one time in Florida, not sure if they still do it, you couldn't have over $2,000 in assets to your name and had to list all household income in order to qualify for food stamps. It will be very interesting to see what they do if people don't have much income but outright own a house, decent vehicle, jewelry, art, etc.

11. Aren't you glad you voted for Obama? |
|
If you're 55 or older, it should only cost you $400/month. No biggie, right? Just spare change. :eyes:
If you're younger than 55, too bad, you aren't covered. Hopefully, your current insurance is enough to cover your needs.
Thanks for voting for me. Please send money to counteract the mean GOP who doesn't care for you. Love, Obama. :eyes:

To avoid the mandate, find a Christian Scientist "Church" and join it NOW. Put up with their crap until you have to request a religious exemption.
No mandate, no IRS grabbin' yer stuff, no sweat (except the religious thing, easily tuned out)

14. Probably waiting until the final version is available |
|
They are probably saving their breath until a final draft comes out of committee. Then all hell will break loose when they start quoting things out of context like "criminal penalties for not having mandatory insurance will be $800 per person per year, to be enforced by the IRS". There might be all kinds of other info related to that but it will all be little blips meant to stir up outrage, and rightly so in some cases I'm sure.

17. I bet when the final version comes out of conference committee |
|
Pelosi and Reid will be tripping all over themselves trying to run it back to the floor for a final vote. It would not be in their favor for us to really get to read and study the final draft before it gets sent to the President.

19. Of course we all have a minimum $400 a month to fork out for healthcare |
|
Why would they want to discuss something like that? :sarcasm:
Plus, anyone who thinks it's a bad idea is probably just pissed off because they didn't get a pony. :sarcasm:
