Democrats are considering changing a proposed expansion of Medicare to
AP Top News at 10:21 p.m. EST

(AP) – 1 hour ago

WASHINGTON — Senate Democrats are considering changing a proposed expansion of Medicare to address complaints from doctors and hospitals and defray costs for consumers, officials said Thursday, two days after party leaders hailed it as part of a breakthrough for health care. Under the plan, uninsured individuals ages 55 to 64 could purchase coverage under Medicare. The expansion is part of a compromise for dropping a full-blown national government-run insurance plan from the legislation that Democrats and the White House hope to push through the Senate by Christmas.

3. Yes, this way
the insurance companies will not lose a thing, since the people are uninsured to begin with. What percent of the people will be covered? 1? 2? Smashing idea, likely thought up by an insurance company.

Smart dems...giving up and in right to the end.

7. I hate these minimalist "breaking news" stories.
They give no content at all. This is a symptom of our 24 hour news cycle that needs to grasp at any straw to get attention.

Call me when they are able to report details.
