How Is It We All Know That Congress Caves To Big Pharma, Insurance, Wall Street Firms, etc - And.... |
|
We all know that our so-called elected leaders are being bought off and everything they do is to benefit themselves and not the electorate. When BushCo was in power - we at least were able to blame the Repugs for this. Now with the Dems in power - there is no way of saying it's the other side that is doing this - cause the people we elected are doing the same thing.
These politicians are doing this blatantly now and it appears that they don't even care what the electorate thinks about this. How can they face us and continue to tell us lies and then go and do exactly what they say they wouldn't? How can they face themselves in a mirror?
Really - this is getting sickening now. HCR is just a joke. They've cave in to every whim of big insurance and big pharma. Health care costs will continue to escalate and perhaps even at a faster rate once any legislation gets passed.
Yet we keep bending over and taking it in the butt from these people.
How much money is too much money for them to have? Greed.Greed.Greed. Seems to be driving everything that happens in D.C. Who will be left to afford the products, services that they are forcing on us - when we have no jobs and no money and no hope.
They got to be able to see that they are on a path that will eventually catch up with them as well. Either they won't get re-elected or the masses won't be able to support their greedy ways going forward.
I'm just beside myself thinking about how much could have been done to help us crawl out of the hole that BushCo dug for us the last 8 years. Right now - I've decided that I can't vote for any incumbent in any future election. I'm going to do all I can to make sure that we get the right representation in D.C. for us.
Things could have been so different if only these politicians thought about the people instead of themselves.
It is really a sad situation.

Cable Access channel. I used to laugh my butt off at Alex, and now I am afraid to realize how much of everything that he says has panned out as truth.
We are simply screwn. The organized chaos that keeps about 20% of our party saying, "Well no matter what, we have to support Obama because look at how racist the Repugs are," ensures that those of us who are given to looking deeper are not going to be able to affect either party.
But the agenda is clearly set by the upper one percent that donate monies to BOTH PARTIES.
Meanwhile the MIC complex gets more and more powerful. The Banksters have Main Street's money. Joblessness and homelessness is part of the "recovery" and if you don't think we are in "recovery" then clearly you goofed by not selling out or being born rich.

13. Alex Jones speaks the truth, but his fundie religious views make him look like a whack job. |
|
Which is really unfortunate because he has connected a lot of the dots.

4. We have to be willing to Dump These Mother Fuckers Already |

But we keep saying, "Oh, no. The other guys are worse."
And that tells the Democratic Party that they can ignore us completely.

5. One word: Apathy One sentence: |
|
For the same reason that we won't stand up for right even when we see someone being wronged; few of us have the courage of our convictions.
One more sentence: It is easier to remain anonymous and post our displeasure online than to take to the streets en masse.
Last sentence and a philosophic adage: These days, most only want to protect their status. They have forgotten that if you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything.

6. With history as a guide, we will likely see things get even worse and that will bring about |

more discussion of radical changes all across the spectrum, then the repression will ramp up as the new socialism (whatever it's called this time around) takes root. A third party will become significant through pushing egalitarian ideals which will be co-opted by one of the established parties, which will throw some morsels to the rabble in order to preserve the system for the parasites. Then all the jackasses that are screaming about how great things are now and threatening the end of the world and fighting change every step of the way will pretend that they knew it all along.
It's a slight variation on the 1880s-90s and the 1920s-30s.

7. It takes a certain, fairly unusual IMO, personality type... |
|
To ignore the hype, the sound and fury signifying nothing and focus on reality.
The reason propaganda is so prevalent is that it *works* on the majority of people the majority of the time.
And being one of the type that can ignore the bullshit usually means that you are at least somewhat of an outsider and likely to be ineffective at winning people over to your view, you simply don't have enough in common to communicate effectively a large percentage of the population.

We spend our time posting pictures of the Obama's dancing and the "Morans" guy on the internetz. Not hard to understand who accomplishes more and why.

11. Most of the electorate doesn't follow that closely and don't realize what's going on. |

And the media is owned by the same corporations that are buying off the politicians.
