Banksters whine about their bonuses and meanwhile in the real world...
"I worked 57 hours and I only got paid for 35," said Deniz, 62, holding a handful of pay stubs. "I think it's unjust that we're not getting paid complete hours and for overtime. We're being defrauded."

-snip-

On Thursday Deniz and seven other workers filed a class-action lawsuit alleging that SelectRemedy, the temp agency contracted to staff the warehouse that handles shipping for Wal-Mart, has been shorting wages over the past several years.

The lawsuit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court, also alleged that the company didn't pay time-and-a-half for overtime work.

1. Temp agencies are the worst. Wal-Mart may have paid them but
the agency kept it. Hard to prove I think.

2. They are suing the agency, not Wal-Mart.
This should also be posted on the Labor Forum, if it is not already.

3. How about Furloughs??
My company gave everyone a 5 day furlough.

Or my husband's company - they took away all Holidays and Vacation days. They also cut everyone's pay. Yeah they need to spend a 1/2 hour in our shoes.

5. The furlough sucks as well.
As for those of us who are self-employed, longer hours and slimmer paychecks.

6. We get those, too
My husband has to work weekends, but not get paid for it. Oh yeah and the owner is a Multi-Millionaire who brings his kids Christmas gifts to the office to I guess gloat. What a douche

7. Does your husband get a 1099 or a W-2?
If it's a W-2, the employer is violating wage/hour laws.
He should try to copy any memo's or e-mails on the subject as well as to keep a log of this wage theft.

8. They wouldn't last the day in our shoes
They might actually have to DO something to earn their pay, which might not cover the bills.

Here I am two 10% pay cuts later, with the company closing from 12/24 through 1/4. If you don't have vacation time to cover those days, you're SOL and just don't get paid. You know what I'm gonna do about it? Keep working, because it beats being unemployed.
