Honestly, there is not one single person I've run into or has overheard |
|
the t.v. talking about the Tiger Woods saga that gives two shits. Nobody. I think people are finally understanding how ridiculous and out of touch that our media is. The MJ shit this summer and now the Tiger Woods updates. Everyone shakes their heads and say, "who cares, why do they keep telling us about this shit?"

1. I really don't care about where Tiger's Wood has been |

and I wish the media would STFU about it. Leave it for TMZ to cover, not Countdown

I've muted or changed the channel every time they start on Tiger Woods.

I really do. I simply could not care less who Tiger Woods slept with. I can not fathom why anyone would care much about this. This story has absolutely no local or national importance in my view. These ridiculous stories serve only to distract people from actual important issues.
Sadly, I am observing just the opposite reaction from what you are seeing. From what I see, people are just eating this stuff up. I hear people talking about it all the time. It dominates news coverage for a reason, and that reason is ratings. Whether they admit it or not, people tune in to watch this sort of story. I don't like that they do, I think even some newscasters/commentators don't like that they do because it forces them to spend time on garbage like this for ratings, but alas, the public seems to LOVE these sorts of human drama's/soap operas.
I really don't think the people are "finally understanding how ridiculous and out of touch that our media is". I hope your right, I really do, but I actually suspect the exact opposite is true. I think the media spends more and more time on this crap PRECISELY because the people do tune in to watch stuff like this.

5. Yeah, but it makes for good 'watercooler' chit chat. I mean, come on, a waffle house waitress? |

How tragically hilarious is that?

6. At least she got her 15 minutes of fame... |

Some of these girls will sell their stories and make some money. I guess some good will come out of it for them.
Hilariously tragic indeed.

7. I've enjoyed the whole thing. |

I love seeing self-righteous smug celebrities get their cummuppance, and Tiger Woods and his drooling fans are the smugest and most self-righteous. Schaudenfreude is a wonderful thing.
