Pleasanton man's camping trip ends in death

A Pleasanton man who had been missing for a week on a camping trip was found dead Thursday night in Mono County, about 3 miles from where his Jeep became stuck in a ravine, authorities said today.

Jay Lafontaine, 48, had apparently walked through snowdrifts for help after his Jeep Wrangler became disabled, said Pleasanton police Sgt. Jim Knox.
